XFX Shows A Distinct Lack Of Professionalism... Again

Am I the only one who can't really make out an "E" or "e" at the start?

It's clearly VGA, but looks more like sVGA to me?!

Either way I'm amazed that there is enough "evidence" (of damages) for an injunction to prevent it.

If I was at EVGA I would find it quite funny rather than thinking about a lawsuit and it would give me a few ideas for a new box design of EVGA cards :p

People whether it's funny to us or not isn't the point. XFX are ridiculing EVGA in a very unprofessional manner, and if any of you owned a business that was being ridiculed on the packaging of your direct competitor, you'd be none too pleased and take appropriate action to have it removed. Justice for EVGA imo.

Bingo, this is about professionalism. Yes, it was funny, but it also makes XFX look really stupid.

This, following on from the 7900GT fiasco during which XFX actually took their forums down to avoid complaints, is absolutely ruining XFX's reputation. It's already in the mud, now it's being dragged from the back of a horse.

Yes it is a little unprofessional, but does it stop me getting a XFX card, not at all.

So I doubt this will seriously hurt XFX, this is in no way the same as XFX refusing to acknowledge they messed up the fan control on some of their 7900GT cards.

This isn't stopping me from getting an XFX card, what stops me is their horrendous track record with customer service (especially when it comes to honouring RMAs.) OcUK banished their product from stock, enough said. ;)

All this case shows is more icing on the cake, and more reason not to buy XFX.

I agree, this won't hurt XFX at all, it's just bad publicity. The problem with XFX and the 7900GT though wasn't just fan control, it was the voltage regulator and memory like the other brands of 7900GT, but the reason they stood out during that scenario was because they failed to honour a lot of RMAs and went as far as shutting down their forums and helpdesk because of all the outrage.

Evga is :o

Thats overreacting! Sueing someone for that is absurd. Did this somehow insult evga or lower their sales? WTF glad I didnt buy evga
It may be over-reacting, but I say "go EVGA go" simply for giving XFX a slap on the wrist for being utter 'tards. :)

All things said and done even if the staff of EVGA are having a bloody good laugh over the whole issue and don't personally care at all, they may as well claim damages if only to cost their competitors money.

EVGA paid to have my completely working (but not very Quad-clocking friendly) 680i motherboard replaced with a better one. For that they can sue anyone they like. I don't care how the companies treat each other - I care about how they treat me, and EVGA have treated me very well indeed, whereas OcUK won't stock XFX anymore because of the poor service.

Dear god, is it no wonder that many threads in here descend into childish rubbish when the manufactures themselves behave in this way?!! :D

On a slightly more serious note, it doesn't bother me. I've had XFX cards in the past but managed to miss the 7900gt fiasco, I'd have no problems buying one again or an EVGA one for that matter. Sad state of affairs that this even reached the courts, I really can't see what possible law it could break or what damage it may cause?
