xfx warantee

Friends don't let friends buy from XFX.

I hope the guy answering email losses his job and XFX go up the wall.

No wonder Nvidia ****ed you off XFX

I hope OCUK remove you as a partner altogether, as you certainly don't deserve to sell products through their good name.

The way you have treated this customer and other customers (google it) it won't be long until you cease to trade.

This sums up the whole thread, very very well said.

im done tryin to get this card replaced, i did consider tryin to bake it, but i think it will be more fun when i take my anger out on it lol, iv been convinced by the family they arent going to let me set fire to it in the back garden, they are worried about complaints from the neighbours, so.....what to do with it? lol

As much as I don't like XFX, if you don't have a receipt I think your quite screwed, with the actual company you bought it from ceased trading, their is no way you can provide proof or purchase with the date on - it could be under 2 years, or over 2 years, how would anyone know?

Maybe like people mentioned, obtain a bank statement date from the time of purchase.

Get yourself a Rexel Nyrex A4 Slim View Display Book to keep all bills and receipt's - that's what I use, or for cheapness a A4 ring binder with some plastic punch pockets, only costs a couple of quid - keep everything organised in one place.

Tbh that guy is coming across as a total douche.

Not seen anyone praising xfx, kinda clear to see why.

Kiel, did you get it cash or card? I'd give it one last go to get this resolved and provide whatever proof you can, if that fails then I'm sure someone on this forum would help you blow it up for fun!

Gl either way!

Receipt/Invoice is not the only means of proof of purchase.
As you mentioned a Bank statement showing the value should suffice.

It's quite easy for items to be left on shelves/in stock rooms for a while.
for this time to be deducted from the OP's warranty I personally wouldn't accept and feel XFX are effectively looking for any which way to wriggle out of a warranty being honored.

I have to be honest and say how lazy I am with receipts. I rely on the "My Account" button on sites far to much me thinks. Regardless though XFX are meh!!!

The trouble with a bank/credit card statement is it may show a payment was made to beat buy but it doean't show what you purchased. I guess if worst buy was still trading you could trace it the payment back to that product but thats not going happen now there no longer around.

This does now mean that wherever you buy XFX products from they may treat you like this, remember any company even OCUK can go out of business so XFX no PSU from you well done your customer service is the best!

I do kinda agree with you nelly, but this obviously isn't a typical situation where the supplier has gone bust, at the very minimum I'd expect the company to try and resolve it in a decent manner.

From this post alone they have probably lost quite a few orders, so even if they were telling him to go do one, It could have been dealt with in a much better way than this.

As a customer, you don't always get the outcome you want, sometimes you do get screwed, but how it is handled speaks volumes for the type of company they are and if you consider using them again/recommending to friends.

If I've had a good experience, I will recommend to friends and colleagues, gigabyte did me a massive favour recently and after I told a mate of the situation, his company spent quite a few thousand buying their products rather than asus. This is just one example, and I don't even know that many people who share the same pc interests as me.

I'm pretty sure that on this forum, we have members that can recommend and reach hundreds.

This is why you buy from the likes of Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA, you get treated correctly when things go wrong, it's worth paying a few quid more when buying products for peace of mind. Remember this when buying your next purchase.

Now I've not looked into this as am at work but from what I remember "proof of purchase" does NOT have to be a receipt or an invoice it can be something as simple as your bank statement or CC statement showing the payment to the company.

They could suffice but surely you would have to be able to tie the amount on your bank/credit card statement to a particular product otherwise how would anyone know that £X on your statement paid to company Y was for product Z.

Take for Example a website Advertised 3 Year warranty, but had the stock for 1.5years already. I woudln't expect a 1.5 year warranty, I would expect the as advertised 3 year warranty. What wort of warranty was the XFX card advertised with?

In those circumstances you could well be left with a 1.5 year warranty if you don't have an invoice.

EVGA, for example, state this:

All products purchased ON or AFTER July 1st, 2011 include a 3 year limited warranty from the date of purchase with a valid invoice. For users without a valid invoice, or users that have not purchased from an authorized reseller, the warranty begins from the date the product was shipped from EVGA’s warehouse. Registration is recommended.

I have an XFX PSU and seriously worries that, should it go wrong, what kind of service will I get. I blew my first XFX up by getting coolant in it and not giving it enough time to dry out...I was tempted to be cheeky and RMA it but my honesty wouldn't let me. Shame that respect isn't shown back :(

Corsair recently replaced an item for me and I had no receipt. I just told them where and when I bought it.
Aye Corsair are great, same for me last week, one of my 200MM fans conked out, just had to say where and when bought, I had replacement within a few days, they sent me a new fan controller with it as well.

XFX are just bad, googling XFX RMA, comes up with lots of bad reports on them, especially this Sean guy at XFX. They are just as bad in the USA, that's even were they are based lol, take months to sort out RMA's - check overclock.net.

have moved house twice in that space of time due to landlords being idiots about pets, so dont have the invoice anymore, now where is my petrol....lol

Did you purchase it online ? if so did you not receive a conformation email of the purchase ?

Hope you get it sorted.

Logitech have done it many times in the past for me before too

Yeah I got a similar response from Kingston who just used the serial number to furnish me with a new ssd very quickly.
Does not help the op of course but it does suggest that XFX are not amongst the 'top tier' computer component companies (imo).
