First of all Hi everyone and good morning.

Just wondered if any of you guys have purchased a XFX X58I MOBO and had any problems because I've had no end since installing the card . First of all during installation the CPU speed jumpers were set wrong although it said auto was the default setting they weren't and the image depicting which memory slots to use was wrong (reversed) on the installation guide. Ok no problem those were easly overcome.
The real problem is after a few days of running the system it started to hang on the POST but restarting the computer would fix this, until yesterday and now it wont even boot up at all, nothing it just stops at POST with no signal to the monitor. I've tried clearing the CMOS and even changed the battery but nothing solves the problem I cant access the BIOS and after searching the internet this seems to be a common problem with these boards among other issues including issues with 6GB of memory.
Just wondered if any one had solved the problem or should I return the card (will I be able to?) after all I've paid nearly £120 for a card that had major problems straight out of the box.

System Specs.

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366)
Point of View GeForce GTX 275 Joker Edition 896MB GDDR3 PCI-Express
OcUK Value 416V 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor
XFX X58i Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair 6GB Triple Channel DDR3
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium - Retail (Full Version)
Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.B 160GB SATA-II 8MB Cache
CIT 1003 Gaming Case with Side Window
LiteOn SOHC-5236K-05C DVD-ROM / 52x CD±RW IDE Drive

Kind Regards

Yeah the more I read into it the more I think i made a major error in purchasing this board. I normally use Asus boards but for some reason didn't this time round, starting to regret it. I'll see if I can return the board I think.

Are you sure the board was new? I have two of these and they both came with the jumpers set to AUTO. I'd be very surprised if they came from the factory set to anything else given how important they are to getting the system to start straight out of the box.

It seems odd that it worked initially but now won't post. When it's hanging what does the POST indicator say?

have you updated the BIOS, set RAM voltages or changed anything else that might have caused the instability?

It's basically an Intel reference design board so there's not really a lot to go wrong.

The board was new bought from overclockers wrapped never been opened as far as I can tell. Haven't changed any settings in the BIOS or updated I never had chance before it stopped working, read a lot of articles saying the updated BIOS killed their boards as well.

POST indicator hangs at D4, seems a lot of people have had this problem with the board working then it suddenly stops booting up especially with 6 Gb of RAM. Have tried with less sticks but still no joy.
