Xiaomi Bootloader Unlocks

I picked up a Xiaomi phone and clearly was not aware of the "improvements" made with HyperOS that now mean unlocking the bootloader for custom Roms is next to impossible.

ANYONE here managed to unlock a recent Xiaomi phone via their "unlock lottery" at midnight Beijing time? I've been using a script but its almost impossible... (*well I think it probably IS but I stand to be corrected)
 
People still do, but typically don't unlock the bootloader to flash custom ROMs. The best place to ask (at least few years back when I was more interested in custom ROMs/rooting) is the XDA forums.

I pretty much stopped since trying to keep SafetyNet (now called Play Integrity I believe) and Widevine L1 working for banking/streaming apps was a pain to keep up with.

Yep, me too. Bootloader unlocking is something that I used to do automatically when getting a new phone but that has stopped for many a year now, probably the same length of time I stopped visiting XDA forums.
 
Don't really keep up with it since Xiaomi have pretty much stopped it or made it very difficult and even if you do you'll have to deal with the hassle that comes with Play Integrity

This used to be my goto when I bagged cheaper CN version and flash ROM from here which had fixes in place and good support

I tried XDA... oh well.. looks like I bought a paperweight cos its crap and full of bloat slowing it down... I'll keep trying to unlock it!
 
I guess I can try... oI really want to wipe and put Lineage on to be more private though.... otherwise might just put up with my Samsung withg Google spyware
 
There used a be Mi Unlock tool you could use to unlock the boot loader but been a few years since I had a Xiaomi to know if it still works. Was one of the perks of having a Xiaomi.
