XIM 4 released

Hahahahahaha, what a load of tosh. I played PC games from Delta Force to Q3A to CS and so on on my PC all those years ago, it took no time at all to get used to a controller, and I had very little time as well due to having a family/social life.

It's just your not willing to get smashed a few times due to frustration than put the work in, like most things in life these days, people want all the success without putting time in, don't want do that, then stick to PC games.

I have no issue with these tools being used offline.

Some people can, some people can't. Not for the lack of trying. I really wanted to play the first Resistance game on the PS3 but kept dying 5 mins into the first level, after weeks i was still hopeless. It was ruining the fun of the game and if the controller does that then whats the point. Xim was the perfect answer and at least now i can hold my own

I like the way I explain my personal reasons and get a response of "hahahaha, what a load of tosh" , I play the ps4 about 2-3 hrs a week so not really that long to get to grips with the control pad I feel , call it having instant success or call it using a controller your use too, people who use dpads on pc's such as xbox do they get called cheats etc too? I'm only a casual gamer anyway so I'd prob still get owned with someone whos good at a dpad lol

I'm sorry but if you were a 'casual' gamer then you would be gaming for fun and just playing with the controller. A 'casual' gamer doesn't strike me as the sort of person who would spend £130 on a product in order to play a game.

These threads always make me smile :D

How many you ordered? :p

boycey123 you are talking rubbish - how the **** did you manage to learn the keyboard and mouse yet somehow another input method daunts you. Do you wake up in the night with a cold sweat wondering how youll master the TV remote?

**** me - grow some balls and put some effort in, its not that hard - Im in my mid 30s and only got back to console gaming 5 years ago, due to injury, after being pretty much a PC gamer...

ps3ud0

always makes me laugh how angry people get...

I get annoyed because you really dont realise how absolutely stupid you sound - its embarrassing...

Actually surprised you know how to laugh - could you fit that into your schedule or did you just have instant success?

EDIT: Actually Ive crossed the line, look its not hard so dont make up some long excuse that you dont have the time to learn to use a controller because it isnt Fermats Last Theorem

ps3ud0

What's funny is everybody whines about these gadgets saying they give an unfair advantage over the controller. This is exactly why many people are not as competent with a controller as they are with a kb and mse, it's simply easier to use. Hence the reason they buy one.

Frankly i don't give a flying monkeys what the likes of ps3ud0 thinks, in fact i'm thinking of using it online now just because i know it'll wind him up ;)

in my opinion Dpads are good for playing games like Fifa, KB/Mouse good for FPS games... At end of the day if its on sale to the public people will purchase this, it's just one of them ones you have to accept

on a side note I realised within posting why these forums have been slowly in decline in my opinion , unfriendly bunch :)

Why not stick to PC gaming then? Most people buy them in the hope they'll get an unfair advantage online. Why would anyone spend £130 for offline gaming? Playing offline is the perfect time for practicing with a pad and I don't believe that some people cannot not aim using a pad at some a.i bots.

I can't aim for toffee with a controller, had every console since the original Playstation and any game that requires manual aiming and I'm pants. I've also been a PC gamer for many years so give me a kb and mse and I'm a slick ninja when aiming.

If I got a XIM id use it for games like Killzone Shadow Fall, the last of us etc, games that are not only exclusive to a console but also require aiming.

Even with the auto aim? Have you tried changing the sensitivity?

My daughter is 6 and she is semi decent with a controller :p I just feel most people who say they can't use a pad don't actually put much of an effort into learning how to use one, but as I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember it's easy for me to say....

should people that use a racing wheel and pedals be banned from online racing , should those who use a fight stick be banned from online fighting , what about those that use expensive headsets or a good monitor , what about disabled gamers that cant actually hold a controller should they be banned from playing , you say using a kb/m is only for pc gamers but what if someone has a better pc than someone else or a faster internet connection should they get banned .

Pretty much everything you just mentioned is officially licensed for consoles anyway so I don't see your point? A xim 4 isn't. It circumvents the security on the console for it to work. If MS & Sony officially released a M&KB then it would be fair game as everybody would have the option of buying one at a fair price.

There is also the immersion factor for me, my childhood gaming was predominantly FPS games like Doom, Duke Nukem, Quake, Jedi Knight etc etc which I played at a desk with a kb and mse. Im so used to it I find it alien playing such games with a controller.

Sat on the sofa with a controller is perfect for racing games etc imo, I feel 'at home' with a kb/mse at a desk to get the immersion that an FPS game can produce. I do play some games with auto aim and I have really enjoyed them like GTA 5 but with FPS or even other games like TLoU, I cant get that perfect head shot or even hit the damn enemies sometimes which frustrates me as I know if I had a kb and mse my accuracy would be 100 times better.

Its all personal preference at the end of the day but I can understand people disagreeing with such devices.

I think it almost defeats the purpose of my idea of console gaming. I like lying on the couch to play games. I love M&KB for FPS, it just feel so much more responsive and natural but I'm done sitting at a desk. Controller is fine by me, I'm not exactly amazing but I'm comfy :)

If people want to use these devices then it's really up to them, it isn't going to bother me so much. Id rather play on a more level playing field but if people are that angry or concerned then there is nothing to stop them using one as well I guess.
