XKR out, S type in.

Am I the only one that quite likes the looks of the S-Type? :o

Granted it's not as nice as the new XF though!

Nice car though and a great attitude to have :)

I've always liked the S Type, dad used to have an old Daimler (same style as the mkII jag) and it always reminded me of that.

S Type Rs seem to get a decent write up - I even remember TG racing one on the beach alongside a Monaro and 300C. I think they quite liked it.

Think I personally would have preferred a Merc, BMW or even a Lexus above the Jag. :o

Still, it's a nice car :cool:
 
Looks nice enough, I take it you couldn't stretch to one with satnav though?. I don't think the centre console looks right without it. What's the diesel engine like the the S-Type?

I've only had my XJ a little over 6 months so far and it hasn't thrown any bills at me yet, other than just fuel. I'm not looking forward to that day that it does though, mind you, I always said I wouldn't keep it more than a year anyway, so I might not get any off it If i'm lucky.

I would quite like an S-Type R actually. Infact I really did consider buying one, the reason I didn't though is because I always wanted an XJ, I love the looks of the XJ and I knew that if I bought any kind of an S-Type, I would always look at XJ's and slightly regret not getting one when I could have, even if it wasn't an R.

Looks nice though, good choice :)

Wasn't fussed about Sat nav, its also a 4 1/2 year car so sat nav technology wouldnt exactly be cutting edge. I have a tom tom jobby i use 3 or 4 times a year.

The d engine is amazing, its not related to the one in the X type. I have only done a few miles in it so far but im impressed.

I felt exactly the same when i had my XJ but i had mine 2 years and wanted a change. I went for the XKR - performance and image and loved it but i always plan to go back to an XJ (XJR with the new alli body) at some point.

Interior looks a little drab, but I like S-Types looks from the outside.

Certainly should be cheaper to run than the XKR.
 
I don't mind the looks on the S Type but I always thought they would have been better if the front grill was ore angular and less sloped, more aggressive looking.

The other thing I really didn't like about them was when you sat in the back, the front seats are so low down you couldn't tuck your feat under them, severely reducing your leg space.

Apart from that it's a nice car.
