Christmas is a time for giving but it's also a time for speaking like an adult and not a child pretending to be an adult.

I was going to ask is this your excuse for the rest of your topics but you came up trumps in this one as well with 'THANKS OBAMA'

Xmas is a valid expression, it derives from the clerical notation in Koine Greek XPmas (dating back to at least 1021 in this country). The XP relates to Chi-Ro the expression for Christos..so Xmas is to all intent and purposes perfectly valid in relation to Christianity, not to mention its symbolic connection to Christ which only underlines its literal meaning. In fact being as Christmas derives from a later Old English expression it predates the Anglo-Saxon word.

Technically using Xmas (and knowing its significance) makes you vastly more educated and cultured than using plain old Christmas....;):p

When I lived in Exeter we would say 'Exmas' because we were drunk and it was a cheap, near guaranteed laugh.

Now though, I just refer to it as 'oh, that again.'

What a load of old tosh, the winter festivities has got nothing to do with the Christ, the Holy Bible nor God himself, it is a secular holiday, get your facts straight.

That is true. The only reason we have it is because of a Pagan tradition! Jesus was probably born sometime in the summer in fact!

It is not true, it is a common misconception...Christmas coincides with some pagan festivals (although the dates are not actually synonymous with each other) simply because the astronomical and seasonal observances of the Liturgical Calendar are common to many other religious observances, particularly Jewish...for quite obvious reasons...early Christians were in fact Messianic Jews.

And no one knows when Jesus was born...nothing points to it being June in any case...many theologians and historians have extrapolated the likely dates ranging from early Spring to late Autumn and early Winter....but while Christmas has evolved into both a Religious and Secular celebration, what you are both stating is simply a misconception popularised by authors such as William Walsh.

And no one knows when Jesus was born.
That might be true but there is nothing absolutely nowhere in the Bible does it mention any instructions to celebrate christmas and besides the word christmas does not appear in the Bible. Christmas has got nothing to do with Christianity, the festive holidays is a pure pagan secular event, end of, and many agree with this, you're in a minority.
