Hello OC's,

With christmas time fast approaching I am wanting to add a new CPU and a new Graphics card to my PC, I have grown tired of ATI's CCC which I simply dont understand and as a Warcraft player it is clear that there will never be "good" support of ATI Graphics Cards. I would like to move to an nVidia graphics card and would encourage some recommendations on what card to go for.

I also note that when I built my system I did so with the intention of getting a better processor but to date I still have never bought one (just RL taking over as usual) and so I have decided to get it replaced now and would once again take any advise or guidence on a good CPU to get installed.

Games of choice that I run are StarCraft II, Warhammer Online and World of Warcraft.

My budget for the graphics card would be between £100-180
My budget for the CPU would be the same.

Here is my spec for clarity:

  • Motherboard: Asus P5Q-PRO
  • Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40GHz (2 CPUs)
  • Memory: 3070MB RAM
  • Card name: ATI Radeon HD 3850 X2

Thanks in advance.

you'll see a huge improvement over your current specs then

Oh? Really not had any problems at this resolution. Please remember I only really play Warcraft and the like on my PC I dont play a lot of FPS or anything. I have not any issues to date with my setup aside from Blizzard entertainments avid support of nVidia over ATI.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on good upgrade options of my current spec however if you don't mind. :)

thanks again.
