hi, after doing my rebuild I have noticed that my ram doesn't seem to support XMP. when I swap out the 2500k for an IB processor, would I be better also getting some XMP supported RAM to make overclocking easier, or is manually setting the RAM the recommended way?

Don't think there's a difference manually setting the RAM to it's rated settings?

ok, wasn't sure as from memory when I did have XMP compatible there were 2 profiles, one obvs cant of been the rated settings, so wasn't sure if, for overclocking, that would be preferred than guessing.

you can improve on xmp timings too usually, esp if xmp sets command rate at 2t which would be slower than 1t,maybe one or two clicks more vtt or dram voltage but better imo
