I've got a Pentium D 805 an have been overclocking it to about the 3.5-3.7ghz mark. I havent paid much attention to the RAM, and noticed the timings were set to auto in the BIOS, and CPU-Z says its running @334MHz. My RAM is 1GB Corsair XMS 5400, am I getting the most out of this, can i run faster. Also, can someone tell me the best timings to run them at in the BIOS. ANy help would be greatly appreciated :)

If these arent the UL (low latency ones) then stock timmings are 4-4-4-12 at 338mhz or DDR675. I have mine running at 4-3-3-4 at 333mhz or DDR667. Ive was able to overclock mine to 390mhz at 4-5-5-15 at 2.3v

I have the DDR2 XMS2-5400 overclocked to 800mhz @ 2.1V 4-4-4-12 timings. ;)

I tried 890mhz @ 2.3V 4-4-4-12 but didn't really see the need to push it that high.

so how would that go in the BIOS, i mean in the BIOS there are these names which one is which? T(ras) etc? Also, what would be better a dual core clocked at 3.4ghz and fast ram or 3.6ghz and slower ram? Be really grateful if you could help me on that! :)

Not sure about your BIOS options, it differs. I have the ASUS P5WD2 Premium.

fast cpu + slow ram is better since the fsb is higher.

800mhz at stok timmings? :o are you sure yours arent the UL ones? When did you buy your memory kit? Mines over a year old now so maybe the latest ones clock a lot better :p

I got my RAM last May, so only recently. I think I do indeed have the UL ones IIRC. ;)

Have a set of 5400 C4 Pro here that runs 416 mhz 4,4,3,12 w/ 2.1 v, very nice clocking sticks for the price - pitty they won't budge over 416 mhz though :(

If they're UL sticks then afaik they're D9xx chips, should respond quite nicely to a the application of a little voltage :D :D
