XMS3 XMP issue

I honestly have no clue when it comes to ram and timmings etc so I just rely on XMP. This worked fine on my old ram, Corsair XMS3 2x4GB DDR3 Dual Channel. After many years use one of the sticks became faulty so I recently bought XMS3 2x8GB CMX16GX3M2A1600C11

However when I enable XMP on the new ram, it doesn't set the frequency to 1600MHz as it should. Any ideas what could be the issue?

I'm abit confused about the voltage required on the new 16GB ram too, it states 1.5v whereas the old 8GB XMS3 set was 1.65v. I even tried setting the voltage manually to 1.65v and re-enabling the xmp profile but it was still stuck at 1333MHz.

My motherboard is a MSI P67A-GD65 with latest bios. I'd appreciate any help guys.

Clearing cmos didn't help sadly. If I enable XMP and manually set frequency to 1600MHz I get this. Frequency is correct but the timmings are different to the XM Profile.

I read that lower numbers are better/faster regarding timmings too, is this right?

Not sure how you get two different results. I suspect you're messing around with stuff in the bios you don't understand. Bioses often tweak ram timings through features like 'turbo', performance enhance' etc. The voltage should be 1.5 though. Don't force it to 1.65.

In the second instance it looks like the XMP profile has been loaded then altered by stuff you've changed in the bios. I would say that if the second picture represents the current settings and the PC works then call it a day. If you want to dig into the details you'll need to read up a little more.

I havent been messing around with settings. I get these results even after resetting bios defaults then just applying the XMP, or as in second results, XMP and manually setting frequency to 1600.
