Xonar audio centre questions

Don't really need to, so to speak, well maybe if you have 5.1 speakers but I have had no issues with my MS floorstanders.

threadjacking a bit, but I don't suppose anyone ever found any keyboard shortcuts to change audio source? I'd love to be able to change mine via remote, but I can find no way other than opening the software with the mouse.

hmm I have the d2 and in the audio centre i cant select the number of channels? the box isnt there?

First of all - try clicking around the Xonar Audio centre. There are a couple of switches that reveal extra options.

If not - Which operating system are you using? You probably need to uninstall your drivers and then reinstall with the latest ones from Asus.

If you install drivers over the old ones it sometimes causes problems.

You posted while I was editing. Please note my comment above about revealing extra options. You need to click on "Main" at the bottom to get in to that screen.

That is strange? Try uninstall use driver cleaner or something like that and do clean install again and see what happen.

At the end, i ticked Dolby Headphone for gaming and movies but not on music as still doesn't sound right with music :D

ill try driver cleaner. Ive only installed the drivers. none of the other stuff like portable music processor. is that needed? also the drivers on the asus side are from october, nother newer.

i dont like dolby headphone at all for music. ive had far better results messing around with crossfade plugins for foobar2000

Yeah with Dolby Headphone seems like sitting in theater/arena, with everything off just only 2 channels seem a lot clearer sin=milar to my sound system :D

What's a crossfade plugins for foobar2000?

Not sure what the newest driver, have a look at ASUS site that's where i got mine from :)

crossfeeders help to center audio when it should be centered.with a pair of headphones, music can be a little too.....left and right. Sometimes theres nothing in the middle, crossfeeders remix the audio to reproduce that centered audio that you'd hear when listening to a pair of speakers, without the surround processing and other effects dolby headphone produces.

the dsp for foorbar2000 is called foo_dsp_crossfeed.dll

Just ran driver cleaner in safe mode etc, new drivers still the same. Mines the pci version, does that matter?

Mine the same, D2. Not sure mate, did connect the right speakers plugs at the back, not sure if make any different?
