It shouldn't do, but I can't say for certain that it won't. An extension would be another choice. A half decent extension would be the most sure-fire way of offering a way to unplug the headphones without needing to bugger around the back of the PC, without reducing quality. I use a similar thing with my X-Fi, as it has no header for front case audio.

lol, ah no worries, i thought thats what i meant, but wasn't sure if u were takin the 'p' cause i said somin noobish.
I always thought that the Xonar driver would take priority over the Windows sound setting but it seems not, Xonar is internally set to 96 by default and now Windows is 24/06 too.
It does sound slightly more cleaner although it's very faint as everything was clear before anyway, since I've installed upgraded opamps it's brought out background sounds so it's kind of sound overload! - the good kind
Remember to also set your Windows Speaker config window to full range speakers as it's set to PC speakers by default - not much use set to not make full range use of our speakers for those of us with proper speakers
