XP Boot disk?

Hey all,

My laptop freezes everytime i boot up and i cannot progress past the "select startup" ie normally, last known good settings etc

I have been recommended ultimate boot cd, but it is 300mb in size - the network i am on will not allow files that large.

Is there an app that will allow me just to boot and not all the other stuff ubcd does?

If you just want a live linux environment so you can copy your files off..

I imagine you'll need to reinstall Windows I'm afraid..
