Xp home windows update freeze!

Hi peeps, if i try and update my windows xp home, via the web it freezes my pc up, I have tried various fixes and all has failed.
Any ideas really welcome to fix this annoying thing.

P.s Is a full real version.

I would try deleting anything in WUTemp if you have not tried already.

I've sorted it now.

But now I'm being told my Windows isn't genuine (it is genuine).
