XP install issues

Hi, recently reformatted my old laptop, tried to install XP onto it, during the install it is unable to copy certain files. I copied the same files onto another disk from another computer and it will not copy them from there either.

I was told that some xp disks have a limited number of uses but the version I'm using is a corporate version and has been used over 100 times with no problems.

The files that wont copy are :

samsrv.dll
wiashext.dll
win32k.sys

Any help will be much appreciated.

Dodgy Disk.

Use a different disk but with your COA.

If the problem isn't with the media then I'd start suspecting the RAM in the machine, get memtest86+ and test the RAM out.
