XP loading screen 30sec prob

After reading the OP's post, i decided to do bootvis on my own pc, and while reading through the site the 2nd poster linked to, i saw the aim for windows loading is 30 seconds  ?

Mine takes 86 according to bootvis, so im woundering if theres something wrong with my pc too?
Also says disk writing cache is disabled in red on the hdd activity graph

I Have 36 background processes in total...

To the OP:
Have you tried your hdd with windows to boot up on/with different hardware ( take out expansion cards, try a diff gfx card, etc...)? Perhaps its a hardware issue....

System > Device Manager.

Go to IDE/ATAPI Controllers. Select primary channel. Right click properties. Click the Advance settings tab. Then on the device (0 or 1)that does not have 'device type' greyed out select 'disable' instead of 'autodetect'. This should stop windows trying to find a drive that isn't there.

If you have your IDE channels set up differently simply repat the above for the secondary IDE channel settings.

When I did this my boot time went from 3mins 20 to 35 seconds.

This reduced my boot time from like 20 secs to about 3 secs.
