Does anyone know of any software that will let me edit the XP login screen so that a person can access the internet/intranet without having to login or if its even possible???

Thanks in advance.

No I mean the login screen comes up and there is an extra buttom/icon which if you click will open IE (without having to enter a username or password) and lets you access an Intranet or a certain internet site only.

I did once demo some software that could do it but that was a login control package which cost the earth.

That would do for home use, but this is on a domain.

What I am trying to do is make it so that users who get locked out of the domain can access the Helpdesk system on our Intranet and log a support ticket without having to phone us of ask someone else to log it for them.

I think I have thought of another way round it instead, but please feel free to offer more suggestions and thanks for the ones so far. :)

create a "help" domain user account. restrict the nuts off it using group policy. now people can login with this "help" account and access the intranet.

Yes that’s what I thought of doing (Great minds and all that) but its turning out to be a bit of a pain in the behind because of our password policy.

I want the account to have a simple password, AD says no way! LOL

I know if I give the account a complex password it won't ever get used...
