The macro looks really cool, you just have to make sure your graphics card can handle the settings. And Shatt, with it's large population, constant movement, and special effects going on can really tax a card's redraw capability.
Just think of a painter trying to paint a scene in the country and now have them try to paint a scene of a large bustling city, they might have problems trying to keep up with the scene changing all the time. Now add more detail and more colors to the painter's palette then ever before. If the painter is quick and sharp they'll do fine, but if not, they might slip and get stuck trying to paint a scene 10 seconds ago and failing to paint what's going on now - hence a crash.
