XP pro 32bit... what happens now with licencing?

No, W7s main benefits are massively improved security, performance and reliability with a generous smattering of improvements to how you work with your programs and files.

You forgot major incompatibility with many specialist pieces of software. The "office environment" covers a multitude of sins, and upgrading your OS is seldom simple.

I never said it was easy, but wherever possible you should upgrade. The most common reason I have come across for not upgrading basically boils down to "I am too used to XP and I don't like change".

I would never advocate upgrading if a business application is not compatible with the latest OS. Though in a few years there will be no choice but to upgrade, unless you want to continue running a legacy OS with no updates or support.
