XP SP3 Update Problems

I am having a few problems getting updates since i installed XP around a month ago. I was happy with having SP2 on my pc but Windows update would only allow me to go to SP3, since i have been on SP3 i have not been able to recieve updates. All updates listed are marked down as 0KB and auto updates dont work either.

If any of you know the problem please let me know

I installed xp sp3 from a clean sp2 install and it seems to have screwed up my install too, 90% of the updates installed by the last ones will not install. Also stops me from installing windows live messenger for some reason.

Can't be bothered to fix it at the moment as I use vista most of the time.

i couldnt install live messenger directly either, had to install 8.0 and then use the update option inside live messenger to do it

slipstream sp3 into your xp disc

the best way of using a new sp

copy xp disc to C:\XPCD , download the SP3 exe, use nlite to slipstream (or do it manually, but nlite is easier to rebuild the disc)

use nlite to remake the cd
