When the ClearType style appeared a while back, i tried it like most people and i found that everything appeared too blurry for my liking, and gave me head strain after very little time. This was most apparent on IE7 when it first came out.
When i purchased Vista, it seemed to be applied with the OS, but it looked a million times more professional than WinXP ever made it look, and i just got used to it.
Now my laptop doesnt have Vista (or would struggle to run it well) so its on XP, but the fonts look thin and week. I found out about the 'cleartype tuner' which installs onto your XP system, and you have much more control over the settings (font depth, transparancy etc). Anyhow, if you choose the more subtle of the options (i.e more Vista orientated) then it can look equally as nice as Vista. Now i have it on all the computers in the house and can't stand it being off
What is everyone elses opinion on it. I'm guessing on Vista there is some way of turning it off, but hearing the views on both platforms would be interesting to hear.
