Does anyone know if there are ANY webcams available which are supported under windows XP64?

I've trawled the Creative site, as well as Phillips, Logitech, Viewsonic and even those new fangled Microsoft mice. None of them seem to have XP64 drivers! If Microsoft arn't even prepared to support their own OS then I don't know how they expect others to (they just list "Windows XP" as supported OS, which presumably means 32-bit only).

Certainly there's no driver for my current Philips TouCam, to which Philips' response was "we have no plans to produce a driver for that platform". How hard can it be to check your pointer arithmatic for 64-bit compatibility and recompile!

The Philip's one sure don't! The red lights permanently on - although I discovered the microphone is operational, but the camera doesn't work and XP64 just sees it as an "unknown device" (at least I assume its the webcam! Most of the other hardware is accounted for).

You just need a compatable driver for it.

I do not use anything 64bit past Linux so can not really be of any help sorry.

No problem Yewen - I was just venting my anger a bit! Yes XP64 has turned out to be more work than I expected. I'm currently missing drivers for just 3 more items:

Alphacool LCD
Terratec PCI-E 2400 DVB tv card
Webcam.

Not to mention all the "beta" (and hand cranked) drivers for various other bits of hardware in the box! Its amazing it boots at all really...

From what I heard, the new MS ones do work under X64 and very well as well...I think one of the Creatives do as well..
Various forums have a fair load of people ditching their Logitechs after apparently being promised a driver last year !!
In the process of ditching my own Fusion for one of the MS ones

edit..
PDF datasheet of the Lifecams from MS show X64 support
