What with all the talk of XP64, I decided to sign up and give it a go. I'd heard many things about broken drivers, things crashing etc. but have so far experienced none of this. I just need drivers for my sound card (M-Audio F410, so drivers were always going to be needed for that) and onboard RAID, which I don't use.

Now, I just need to install my usual set of programs. Can anyone point me in the direction of XP64 versions of common software so I don't end up using the 32bit version of everything?

Thats the trouble mate, there doesn't seem to be any 64 bit software out there at the moment. I got it installed on another HDD, woking quite happily, got drivers for my Audigy 2 and 6800 GT, thought I;d try Bf2 on it, grrr it refused to run properly, I had a lovely pink screen :(

That's the reason no one is using XP64 at the moment — there are no 64bit versions of common software.

Perhaps it's just me, but I haven't seen a single piece of 64bit software (both on and offline) on the market. There may be some groups of people reverse-engineering software and searching for 64bit copies of software, but I haven't come across any yet :o

Hmmmm, I'm finding the same thing. Very few xp64 versions of anything except drivers. Ah well, I'm using it for dev purposes with .NET, don't know if .NET cares what's going with 64 or 32bit OS's, but I've heard there's a possible issue with users on xp64, so that's why I've got it.

I'm still impressed it all works though. I was expecting something far less stable...

i've bene using it for a month or so now, and 32bit is definatly snappier..

going back to xpsp2 soon, going to buy it too
