Hi all,

About a week ago, I got this pump/reservoir which I thought would be good for my watercooling needs.

Having read some mixed reviews, I was reluctant but went for it.

I've got the R2 version from what I can tell from the dimensions.

Over the past week, the pump has been doing a rattling noise when working.

I flushed it once and refilled (was accidental actually and water drained all over the mobo + graphics card, amazingly nothing was damaged)

I have filled the reservoir with distilled water and have been running it for the past 3 days to clear any bubbles.

I have tried shaking the reservoir vigorously while it's connected to the loop and running.

Tried turning the entire case upside down, tilted, still nothing.

The rattling noise is quite annoying. It sounds like a geiger counter spazzing. I can hear it even when standing outside the room.

I have a Lain D5 pump for my other pc and it runs silently compared to this.

Any advice what to do to fix this or is the pump just faulty?

Cheers,

Rara

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies.

Just an update: I've RMAed the xspc pump and got it replaced.

The new one doesn't do a rattling noise but is still loud when active.

It sounds like a mini power generator. The XSPC pump alone sounds louder than my other pc which has 7 fans & a D5 pump working at the same time.

Have I replaced it with another faulty one or do they actually sound like that?

Rara
