My friend is in the market for a new single graphics card and it has boiled down to either of these. From what i can see the 7950GX2 seems to have across the board higher performance but a number of reviews have mentioned that the ATI image quality is better (something about hdr and FSAA together). Anything with some suggestions about which i should recommend

oh just to mention he mainly plays wow atm and then moving onto vanguard

thanks in advance

Only ATI can do AA plus HDR. Which is nice but not essential.

For the same price I would go for the 7950.

If all out performance is the primary concern, then yes the GX2 is the right choice, especially if your friend is gaming at resolutions at or above 1600x1200 with plenty of AA and AF.

Otherwise the radeon X1900XT'S are the best choice, they will also handle high resolutions with AA and AF and generally clock to XTX speeds or above, they will only be a few frames behind the x1950's and are well over 100 quid cheaper.

The Sapphire X1900XT at £217inc would be my choice.
