Will a 2 or 3 headed Y splitter allow me to control the RPM of the attached fans at whatever speed I set and can I daisy chain them?

Normally using a custom fan profile.

These state they are for PWM fans. In theory, because only one fan will provide RPM feedback for the mobo, then the other fans; even if they are 3 pin; should be given the same voltage as the PWM feedback fan. But in practice, I think I've heard it doesn't work. Not sure if it's PEBKAC or not. And I don't know if daisy-chaining will work.

Why don't you be our guinea pig? :D
 
I have the 3rd one Danny linked, and while you can control the fan speed, the system itself will only see the CPU fan speed. However, the speed of each fan will be linked to it.

Akasa one is a useless piece of wiring. The connections on the header are not the right ones for PWM fans and PWM doesnt work. Not sure it's PEBKAC/PICNIC as others on this forum have mentioned the same.

Looking for a 4 pin Y splitter which it looks like OcUK don't sell. Fulax has linked me to a ''Akasa AK-CB002 PWM Fan Splitter Cable which he says is working for him, so this may be my solution.

Yes, all my case fans are PWM :)
 
2 PWM 120mm, one 3 pin 140mm (2 for the CPU cooler, 1 for case). Seemed to run fine as far as I could tell. The wire was a complete mess however, made cable management a bit of a pain...

All mine are case fans.

The CPU cooler is a H100i running 2 120mm fans off the pump.

Thanks for the suggestions Danny, but that will not work. There is a subtle difference between 3 and 4 pin connectors. The 4 pin is wider and has the protruding pin futher out than the 3 pin.

That ASAKA connector has the 3 pin position but not 4 :(

Isn't the "Akasa AK-CB002 PWM Fan Splitter Cable" you mentioned the same one as the third in the basket I posted?
 
You can get the Arctic F Series fan (I have 3) which have PST and you can just daisy chain them together no problems, though I'm guessing you already have the fans.
