Hi, i have a JVC stereo in my car, but when i turned it on after work all i got was this screen, it still works ok but always goes back to this.

Any ideas on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. or is it new stereo time.

You could try cleaning the contacts with a rubber, by which I mean the electrical contacts between the face and the main unit.

Also you could try unplugging the battery negative lead overnight. Sometimes this resets them (make sure you know the passcode though if there is one though!).

Perhaps the song is a Yazoo remix?

I'd try turning it off and on again, sometimes you have to hold down the SRC or power button to do this...

its a KD-G431, its only a cheap thing, but i only have two small speakers so it does the job.

tried cleaning the contacts and turning it off and on but its a no go, might try disconnecting the battery or just pulling the stereo out for a couple of hours,

Correct.
It will show the station or song title for a few seconds then go back to the screen.

Also, don't know wether it just a coincidence or something more, but my battery has all of a sudden gone flat now, which i've never had a problem with. I've pulled the stereo out and it's not going back in.

will charge my battery and see if it goes flat without the stereo in, maybe a fault with my car battery or wiring.

My diagnosis would indeed be that the stereo in question is almost certainly technically known as Donald Ducked.

To the OP - I have the same stereo and similar symptoms except sometimes it display some other fancy jargon. But easy way to fix it is remove front facia. Then using the pointy bit of a protractor or anything similar press the reset button. Voila job done if not then as posted about its donald ducked.
