Yakuza 3 dated for EU release!

I'm actually looking forward to this. I downloaded the Japanese demo, seemed quite up my street but I hadn't a clue what was going on or what you had to do as it was all in nihongo (surprising, eh!) :D
 
So Yakuza 3 will come out here just when Yakuza 4 may be out at the same time in Japan.

Looks like another long wait for the 4th game whenever that will be.
 
Ive seen this for sale out here, but I wasnt sure if it was going to be in English, or at least have English subtitles. What do you all reckon? Was it released in North America?
Plus, I never played the first 2 Yakuza games, would that be a problem?
 
Firstly, I guess that if Yakuza 3 doesn't sell well in the west, then the 4th game won't ever make it here. And to answer panthro's question, Yakuza 3 is not out in USA yet. I've never played the first two games either. They were out on PS2 but I didn't have one. I know this game continues the story set out in the first two so not sure how detrimental it will be not to have played them.

Seeing as you are in Thailand, from what I've heard of, the Asian version is still in Japanese, but not sure about what subtitles they may have though. And this game has never been released anywhere in the West yet.

If you haven't yet played the first two games then that may be a problem in terms getting to know the history of the story and especially the characters. Yakuza 2 has a pretty brief rundown of the first game so you can make do with that one and get an idea.
 
It will be stupid for Sega not to! Why waste money and resources on a crap English dub if the game doesn't sell well over here, it will just be another loss for them. Plus it will be really bad inconsistency for our version of the games.

It's a shame Kenzan will never make it over here, but I hope that if the 3rd game does decent enough over here, we can eventually have the 4th game soon.
 
Really stupid decision on Sega's part if they do use English voice acting which I'm guessing is probably the morons at the U.S/European branches pushing for it. They really need to change the information on the damn English official website of the game then if this is to be true. Or we could just pray that both original Japanese and English dub can easily fit onto the Blu-Ray disc.
 
Well it has been confirmed on the Official PlayStation Blog that we WILL get the Japanese vocal track with localised subtitles and in a Premium Edition, so that is good news. Maybe the talk of the English vocal track is for the U.S version only or some serious miscommunication at SEGA Europe/America? Now I just need to find where the hell to pre-order the damn thing!
 
Japanese voices would really add to the authentic feel. It's a big plus in my book. It doesn't make sense for Yakuza dudes in Japan to talk in English.
 
Not only with the authenticity, but should we would be able to get Yakuza 4 in the future, and bar the first game, at least the characters will be consistant. Not to mention how many of the main and supporting characters are modelled after their original voice actors, which the 4th game proudly boasts about, so it keeps the perfect match.

Because it's more authentic to read what people say and as an english person watch japanse people who we can't understand without translations :p
There's a loss of authenticity either way unless you just understand japanese. I don't know about you but in the real world I don't read subtitles of what people say when they talk to me lol.

Well you'd have to factor in when Sega decided to start work on a version for Western release and not to mention translating all the dialogue into text which in itself is time consuming, especially considering how heavy it is in the Yakuza games.
