First acoustic guitar help.

Hey everyone,

Looking to get my first acoustic guitar and came across this. Done a search on here and most people reccomend it for my budget of circa 100 GBP.

I was going to buy it tonight until i remembered my friend saying about not getting a guitar without a solid front (f310 doesn't have!), should this be a deal breaker? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Thats a very small amount of money for a guitar! It may be worth remembering with musical instruments especially you tend to get what you pay for.

On the other hand, I have a couple of very cheap guitars with laminate tops and they are not so bad. BUT if you get serious with it they will likely need replacing very quickly.

Thank you for your view. I see what you are saying...

I did assume you get what you pay for, however having seen that 70+ percent reviews on amazon were 5star I thought it seemed like a good deal ( I now think that maybe all of the reviews were by beginners like myself)

The next step up it seems would be the fg700ms, this is about 160 GBP which is a fair whack above what I wanted to spend... Not sure what to do now... :-/

I personally still love my F-310 which I got over 10 years ago now. Sure it's not the best quality but it is pretty solid. I prefer it to some more expensive acoustics I've tried in fact. Maybe try it out and see what you reckon?

Thanks for posting.

I have decided to do as advised by most guitarists which is to go to a shop and actually try out the guitars.

I am going to go on Thursday to a shop and try out the f310 and the fg700ms to see if I think it's worth the extra! :-)

Hey brosef, I have the FG700MS and it sounds awesome, but that's probably just because I'm playing it.

Good luck in that guitar shop, make sure you take someone who is a superb guitarist so you can hear what they sound like. Oh you are? Cool.

Cheers for the advice...

I'm taking someone, as I said above, how ever he's not great, but ill make do as he is (slightly) better then me...

Ok, went to the shop (and as one review i saw suggested) the fg700ms i saw had a loud buzz on the first string...

Called a few other shops and none have it in stock, and i wouldnt want to risk ordering it in and then it having the same problem (although i know they dont all have this issue as my friends doesnt..)...

Now I am looking for suggestions for an acoustic guitar, up to 160-180 gbp, any one got experience with an acoustic guitar in this price range?
