Yamaha MT10 Prices and Specs

My god thats an ugly bike, with luck they'll do a Tracer variant & slap a fairing on it, certainly couldn't make it look any worse thats for sure.

I'm hoping they'll do an XSR version. I love the XSR700/900, but something with similar styling and the crossplane R1 engine would be very tempting.

I have to admit, the XSR version of the MT07 did look really nice at the MCN show, much nicer than the standard model.

Let's face it, anything they do can only improve the looks of the MT10 :p

I'm not a fan of the styling on the MT-10 and 210Kg for a naked is terrible considering the price.

I think I would go with the S1000R or possibly the EBR 1190XS. 185hp and 185kg.

I really like the look of that XSR700 though.

You do realise the S1000R weighs 207kg? :p

My bike it 210kg I think, you won't notice an extra 25kg unless you're pushing it! Obviously lighter is better but such small difference wouldn't put me off one bike.

I do, but the BMW is meant to be one hell of a bike and you have the option of electronic trickery.

The price is the a big problem for Yamaha v BMW. But I do think bikes are getting way too lardy and could be so much better. I mean things have got bad when we have the Yanks (EBR) telling us lightweight is better :(

Just for the record, NOBODY in their right mind buys a base spec S1000R (£10,350). The value in the Sport model alone is worth it all day long.

£11,750 gets you:
QuickShifter
Dynamic Traction Control
Pro Riding Modes
Heated Grips
Electric Suspension
Additional engine spoiler fairings

Seems to be fun judging by that video, but still not sure why I'd go for that instead of spending £1750 more on a BMW with all the features Sin_Chase mentioned.

All these bikes with fancy features coming out make me want a new one :p. Although I do like how 'pure' my Speed Triple is. Proper throttle cable and the only assist is ABS which can be switched off completely :D

The engine :D There was an R1 at Ryka's this afternoon with an Austin racing can, sounded the absolute dogs danglies.

As great as the S1000R is, it does lack a little character and the x-plane crank in the R1/MT10 sounds awesome.

Ignoring the looks and the 'plasticyness' of it, these will still fly out the dealers. £10k list price probably means closer £9k actual price after a few months.
