Yammer Sycophants

I do find it amusing when a corporate fluffy "positivity" post is inflicted on us all, only for someone to call it out and post why they don't actually help their employees when approached on the same subject.

It kills the post dead.

My company got bought out by a company who like to be all corporate and do this sort of thing. One of the teams posted a group photo the other day posing in company branded polo shirts saying how amazing it made them feel being part of the family. I just don't get it.

They love the peer recognition system it has where everyone collectively pats each other on the back as well. It just feels so fake to me. I'd rather have a raise for being good at my job not a fake reward. Cynically I wonder if they use this as a way to avoid giving people pay rises.

Infact everyone in my old company just finds corporate culture cringey and weird and we often joke about it. Although once someone did hear and went and complained to our new CEO. Our boss had to do some serious grovelling :o (he agrees with us)

Although several people from said new company said they really had their eyes opened working with us and how we all treated each other far more genuinely and they much prefer coming to work in our office so hopefully it's catching on.

Can you post an anonymised example? It would be fun to see.
