A friend of mine has asked if I can get the background removed on a couple of pictures of his daughter. I've tried but I can't get them feathered properly and it just looks messy.

Could anyone replace the background with just plain white for me please?

It's much better to do this sort of stuff in pre-processing, not post-processing.

Just get a white background, put up a white bedsheet if you have to. Also subject should be standing further away from the actual backdrop in order to defoucus it and hide its texture and imperfections like creases.

Is it ****. The time it would take to put up a bed sheet, which would look ****. I could cut her out of that and be done. Would literally takes minutes.

If yes, then I'll spend a bit more time on them tonight. the above was just a quick attempt.

Yes please, his actual words were:
"Don’t know if you can help at all but I need 2 pictures edited to remove the background - in this case wallpaper and just leave the subject against a white/plain background."

What?

I'm sorry but I am the professional here. I have taken headshots before and I know how to do professional headshots.

Nothing wrong with using a bedsheet. How can you say it would look "****" when you cant even see it, because the bedsheed is supposed to be overexposed anyway. And as I explained you need to have distance between subject and bedsheet for it to be defocussed. Which means you cant see any "****".

I'm here posting professional tips. If you don't want to use it, don't. But don't be saying "it would look ****" because that is simply 1000% incorrect. A headshot taken on an overexposed background will ALWAYS look better than a crappy minute long photoshop job.

Jesus, I just friendlily pointed out some tips on how to do a white background job. And then some other dude comes in and started swearing uncontrollably.

I'm sorry for posting some friendly advice.
 
Think Asims alright here to be fair. Decent advice. it would look much better / more natural.

Seriously Feek. Just look at my first post. It's just some friendly advice to the massive community here at OcUK.

But this is a discussion forum with thousands of members and readers. All I saw was a thread about white backgrounds and as a professional photographer with almost 12 years experience, I simply explained the best method to achieve a proper white background. Very civilly and friendliliy.

And then some dude comes in swearing uncontrollably with ZERO photography experience, and the Don tells me to shut up?
