unlucky with the cancelation mate, i'm in sort of the same situation as you at the moment but am holding all the 'big' purchases off until i here that the job will be permanent.
hey ... you never know, maybe when you get round to ordering it they'll be a better model/specs out at a lower price

well bit of luck i'll know within a couple of weeks I'm praying i keep it, i love the job but love the Mac Pro more. One thing though....i don't have a widescreen monitor....and mac's don't look right without a widescreen monitor.....arggh....these bills are gonna get big

I use a 19" full screen with mine and it looks fine
, just my personal opinion though ... I actually think full screen makes more sense when your viewing websites and have the dock at the bottom, it just seems better to have more vertical space than horizontal. Still though, the Apple LCD's are really nice, i'd have got one if i'd have had more money at the time.Cheers mate

Gratz on your purchase, having recently got one myself I can safely say youll love it.
Money well spent, as for the payment method, I like you could have saved up a couple of weeks wages, but im also too impatient and put mine on my visa card... along with 3x 500gb SATA drives, £700 worth of Apps and ill be ordering 4gb of FBdimms on Monday...
Ill probably be selling me 1gb (2x512mb) stock ram on here soon.
