hi, im going to move my PC else ware in my room but the yellow cable connected from the ADSL box > router isn't long enough to reach where i want my PC to go. Would it be possible to get a longer Yellow cable(Excuse me for not knowing the correct name) so it would reach or would it interrupt the connection in anyway. And also the main line from the Phone socket is 10 Meters long. If this helps.

thanks ryan

yeah i could do that, but will it affect my speed or anything like that and how much would it cost? id need about 5-8 metres

No, ethernet cable can run MUCH further than that without performance drop off. When you say ADSL box, do you mean the microfilter that plugs into the wall socket?

yeah, i have one downstairs which has the downstairs phone plugged in, and from that filter a 10m extension cable at the end of the extension another filter, my bedroom phone, the "yellow cable" to router, then ethernet to PC.

Ethernet can be over 100m. So you can make any length you like for your setup. :)

ADSL extension cables can be grabbed in a local electronics shop. Just take the short yellow lead in to get the right cable.

Don't forget that you must still have that ADSL filter attached to the wall first.
