Yep it was bikes. [PGR4]

Shame. I was hoping the fourth incarnation would be a return to it's high point of PGR2. Unfortunately, the development hasn't been long enough (two years when it's released?) and now it has bikes.

R.I.P.

They've already done PGR2, the need something 'new'...

Lets just wait and see what's it like to play, and what the singleplayer strategy is, and how the weather effects etc pan out before making such bold claims...

Yeah, I know... but it just doesn't look good (the prospects) from my position.
What is it that doesn't 'gel' with you ?

Whats the point unless they dont mix the cars against bikes. Against any track on pgr3 the bike loses everytime. The only way they make it compete is if you have the type of handling in motogp06 extreme bikes where you could go round the whole track on full power by sliding.

That would be dumb.

If its kept realistic as soon as you get to a bend the bike has to back off more. You know how bad it is in normal online pgr when someone brakes early, imagine the chaos when a bike has to start breaking 2 seconds earlier.

Does anyone else think those shots could easily be from PGR3? Dont get me wrong, PGR3 looked awesome, but I expected a bit more of a leap.

I think that it could be down to the fact that it is a (highly) modified version of their PGR3 engine, hence the similar look.

There is too much AA in the shots, leading me to believe that while they are 'in game' shots, they may be from a 'photo-mode' which applies high AA to an image than actually playing.

Why say that? The animation of them is superb.
It's definitely going back to the days of PGR2, but it's adding stuff, an evolution to the series.

No, there is a massive leap. The graphics are sharper, in the native resolution, have more going on, more details, weather and better lighting.

Yeh I guess.

Perhaps I was being a bit harsh, on reflection I suppose graphically we're looking at refinements of what was already a stunning looking game in PGR3. The native resolution thing is a good point. I remember everyone posting on here the morning of launch trying to figure out why PGR3 was streched on their TFT's (most people didn't have HDTV's then) :)

Soooooo, 60fps then? *runs* ;)

Yaaaaay for bikes, but Tokyo and what looks like London again?.....Some new locations please :(

Shanghai, St. Petersberg & Quebec City are 3 notable additions.
Nurburgring, London, Vegas, New York and Tokyo return.

I am hoping Stockholm and Sydney return as well as Barcelona, they were awesome in PGR2.

No idea what you mean - a bike will keep up with any of the lower class cars. Its sheer acceleration will make races interesting. A GSXR1000 was only outpaced by a Bugatti veyron in 0-100-0

A1 GP 8.40
Bugatti Veyron 9.90
Suzuki GSX-R1000 10.70
Ariel Atom S'Charged 11.00
Ariel Atom 450 11.05
Atom Private Owned 11.05
Caterham CSR260 11.95
Brooke Double R 12.50
Porsche 911 Turbo 12.50
Ford Focus WRC 13.57

I hate the last thing he says, "Now bikers everywhere can shut up!". Not really as he JUST Beat a 8 grand bike (unsure on price) in a 80 grand car....
