YES, pets at work!

When I worked for Sun in california, my colleages used to bring their dogs in quite often and let them run around the offices. All the big silicon valley dot coms seemed to be doing it...
 
I take my border collie to work with me nearly every day.
It spends all day dragging a bit of 4 " soil pipe around and yapping at it or a brush if it can get hold of one. I guess it thinks it's working.
 
A guy at work brings his dog to work each day, and in an open plan office of around 600 people I don't think anyone has complained.

It is a guide dog though, and extremly well behaved. I've never heard it make a noise.
