I've created a set on Flickr with photos of my childhood.

My Mum holding my sister in 1980:

Simply took pictures of the original photos with my Panasonic TZ5.

Full set can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevemillward/sets/72157606929255379/

What do you think?

Wonder if it would have turned out better if i'd scanned the originals?

Your mum looks very young there!

Great family photo though :). I think scanning would produce a better quality.

She was 24 when that was taken. Might have a look at borrowing a scanner then but i think they turned out ok, better than i expected when i was taking them. The originals aren't great quality though.

Just had a quick look through your set on Flickr.

From the web view, the quality is more than adequate.

Have you got the negatives from these pictures? You may already be aware that some scanners will scan negatives (from an attachment?). You may even be able to get the negatives scanned by a local photo shop, if indeed you have the negatives and actually want to do that!

Well i'd like them to be decent quality but dont have the negatives. Parents have a scanner so going to go back there today and have a look what the quality is like scanning them compared to taking pictures of thre pictures.

It's my bank holiday project!

Well been scanning more photos. Got to say quality wise its hard to tell the difference. Does help though in getting images straight on and cutting out the glare from the light.
