Right, my phenom bundle is being picked up on thursday, which was £300, got £115 back from play from my dud 5850.

Looking to get a build for about £500 at an absolute max.

Already have
NZXT M59 case
Blu ray drive
XFX 750w modular psu
Samsung 22'' T220 monitor
Phillips Ambx premium speaker setup.
1tb hdd samsung i think, although may get another 500gb if cheap enough

So just the main components really lol.

Yeah it is, and maybe some encoding, but yeah, gaming will be the main purpose, and i'll need a cpu cooler, but may get the corsair a50.

Nope they perform at a similar level.

5850 vs 6870

Also I would've specced the GD53 but it's not in stock at the moment:(

the graphics card jack recommended is actually £24 cheaper than yours, and is VERY similar in performance as his link shows.

i would go with the build you have chosen, but with jacks graphics card

*edit*
oh, didnt realise it was out of stock

Your guess is as good as mine

You could post in the customer service section to ask them if you want, or if your not bothered about CF/SLI go with the P67A-C45 or AsRock Z68 PRO3

Was hoping to maybe Cf at some point down the line after the missus pops in september...
Gutted that i'm having to get a new gpu as well, my gigabyte 5850 was at 900/1100 on stock volts, was a fantastic clocker..

seen the HIS 5850 as well, just worried about the card fitting into my case, and have heard the 6800 series are ever so slightly smaller, and have less power consumption

If you feel that the 6870 is worth the extra £20 then go for it mate. You can see from my link it will perform ever so slightly better than a 5850 and if it would suit your needs better in areas other than performance then get it, it is your build after all:)

Yeah, i'm still deciding lol, seen the asus p67 sabretooth board as well, wouldn't mind going back to a ROG board, but my wallet can't handle that anymore :p

I would just advise you stay away from Asus P8P67 board range you'll be fine, there have been a lot of issues with those ones. I'm sure there are plenty of fully functional P8P67 boards but there has been more problem with that range than any other.

Ahhh, wasn't aware of that, I'll hang off till the Msi boards come back in stock I think, I'll just need to keep an eye on it and ocuk get me refunded ASAP :)

The weekly deals change on Wednesday around midday so if it comes in after that make sure to come back and check the spec for new deals, you should probably come back and check anyway in case there are any amazing 'Today Only' deals:p

Reckon this would fit in my m59 case?

The Sapphire 5850 is smaller than normal 5850s.

Normal ones are about 240mm long, while the sapphire 5850 is about 210.

The 6870 is about 255mm long.

I think this is a normal 5850 in the same case as you, so you can see it should be ok:)
