Ok, well yet another cleaning thread for you guys....

More really just a simple question.

Heatsinks.

Fairly simple one, what's the best way to clean heatsinks?

I've bought one second hand, and I've done the standard method (air duster), but this isn't really cleaning up some of the engrained dust....

Basically is there any real issue with using warm water on it to clean off the dust and then leaving it a couple of days to dry off?

As far as I can tell there shouldn't be as there are no electrical parts what so ever, but figured I should ask, just to check

Yeah, just wash it (obviously removing fans first!)

The shower tends to work quite well as you get smaller jets of water and can direct it easily.

You'll also notice how effective at transferring heat they are, heat one end and see how quickly the whole thing warms up.
