I'm sure you guys are tired of seeing these types of threads so sorry in advance!
I've spent the better half of this evening searching through this forum regarding first cars and insurance to go with it. I've gathered that I should avoid hatches and the like and opt for a saloon car of somesort that isn't typically associated with the young driver. After a bit of digging I'm thinking of going for a Nissan Primera
At 22 I have one years driving experience as a named driver on my dad's car but unfortunately no claims bonus. Naturally I'm sure insurance quotes will be £1k+, and after shopping around the cheapest quote I could muster up was about £1300. With the car costing about £400 that puts the total to £1700 ish.
Does that sound reasonable as a first car? I'm open to suggestions too (although no Mondeos please, I know they're quite popular here - quotes came up more expensive than the Primera unfortunately). Thanks in advance.
