... because we love 'em on GD! So yeah, I bought an old scanner, as I wanted a model similar to my old one. The seller has got 100% feedback, but only as buyer. The scanner is his 1st item as a seller. I paid up 4 days ago. Today, he stated that the payment is on hold for up to 21 days, as he only recently signed up to Paypal. I replied saying that Paypal are probably being arsey; must be a new policy or something? He said no probs - if I can send proof of purchase, he'll send the scanner regardless.
I'm not too fussed as the item was only £17. Just really like a confirmation from one of you guys if Paypal have changed policy accordingly? I don't think I could email him my Paypal receipt, as he'll think I've probably photoshopped it. Back in my days though, 2001, Paypal took 2 sums of money out of my bank (less than £1 each). Then I would phone up my bank for a mini-statement (as 2001 was before internet banking), obtain the two sub-£1 amounts, tell Paypal what the two amounts were and, bingo, bank account confirmed and Paypal up and running on day 1.
