Had my original p8p67 and have recently come face to face with these idle lockups and I think i'm going to get a refund and get another p67 board.

Just wondered what people would suggest.

The Asrock Fatal1ty Intel P67 or the Gigabyte P67A-UD5-B3

Both support TRI SLI.
Both have all the usual p67 stuff.

The Giga UD7 is way out of the price i'm willing to pay. Maybe if people tell me what the advantages of getting the ud7 is compared to the others then maybe i'd sway :P

But does the Fatal1ty look NOICE or what!
Oh and that X-teaming lan feature is NOICE aswell! Use 2 lan ports to act as one :D

It looks like i've already decided but i'd like people to maybe bring up some more points for both boards

Both are very good boards,so you can't really go wrong with either,as always down to pricing/features etc...personally I'm buying an Asrock P67 Exteme6 in a month or so ,anyway I would lean towards the Asrock since I prefer the new UEFI bios( plus you get a lot of features on the board for the price) compared to the older Bios that Gigabyte uses.

The asrock Fatal1ty offers 3x x16 PCI-E slots which is plenty as I will probably only ever go SLI and not tri. But like to have that headroom.

I don't really need extra Sata ports becuase I only have 1 SSD, 1 HDD and 1 DVD drive.

Don't use many USBs and have nothing USB3 compatible.

2 NICS on the Fatal1ty can work together as 1 :D

Tri SLI on those motherboards will require a dual GPU and a single GPU graphics cards.

With 3 cards installed the Gigabyte's PCI-E lanes run at x8, x8 & x1.

With 3 cards installed the Asrock's PCI-E lanes run at x8, x8 & x4 and this is only for Crossfire.

The manuals show that for SLI only 2 PCI-E slots can be used so that would be SLI, Tri SLI (dual and single GPU) or Quad SLI (2 dual GPU's).
