Heya :D

I'm contemplating getting some Logitech z-5500's tomorrow.

My main interests would be music via my PC (I have an X-Fi Xtreme Music card), DVD watching of course, and general TV watching. But I'm unsure if I can connect everything at once...

1. I presume my soundcard can be connected to the speakers using a presumably supplied with the z5500s cable taking the 3.5mm outputs from it into the speakers. This takes up the three inputs on the z-5500s.

2. My TV has two RCA out sockets, a red and a white. If I buy an RCA to 3.5mm cable, can I plug this into the side socket on the Z-5500s and still get (upmixed to 4.1 as in all speakers working) stereo audio from the TV?

3. That leaves my DVD player which has an SPDIF output. What sort of cable do I need to connect that to the Z-5500's please in order to get 5.1 audio, please?

Thanks for any help in advance :)

I dont have z5500's but im guessing they are similar to my z5400's. You can flick through settings with one button (so its not complicated or lengthy) to to make stereo input spread out through all the speakers. Its useful setting great for ipods and such like.

check again :P sorry i cant answer all your questions. Could you not plug ** dvd into the speakers via digital cable? because my speakers have two digital inputs. then all you would have to do is switch the input using ** remote to get the relevant sound from which ever peice of equipment u are using

then your sorted! pc you caan leave as the three cables (or digital if uve got it) dvd player as digital, and your tv into the stereo jack in the side, which u can then use the setting "stereo x2" to spread it out over all the speakers (however it wont be true surround sound on that setting just stereo spread out)

Lovely! Thanks so much for your help :D

My soundcard sadly doesn't have a digital output, well it does, but it's just as easy to use the three standard connectors.
