Got a nail in my front left tyre and the front right seems to have a slow puncture so a good opportunity to replace them both I feel. They're not illegal, far from it but come next summer and MOT time I'm sure they'll both need changing anyway. They're currently 'Prestivo Sport' which apparently is a Yokohama sub brand and they're OK ish I guess.

Tyres for this are much bigger than my old GTI6 at 225 45 17 which come in for over £100 a corner. Looking at the usual Conti Sport contact 3 and 5 but are Pirelli Pzero Rosso any good as camskill have them for £79 each instead of £120 or so for the usual Continental or Michelin. I've heard people say Michelin tyres seem to wear faster these days, is that true? I mainly do short journeys to work with a weekly 45 mile round trip. Most of it isn't pushing too hard but i do like the occasional hoon, :)

These would be my choice.
I don't know what those are like, but I found the other tread pattern far too soft for road driving (and before you ask, they were at 36psi so the pressure should have been OK).

I found Toyo Proxes lasted better, but they're not so happy in the cold.
I also quite liked the Yoko Prada spec 2, but I use those on the track so I don't know how they compare for road usage.

If they were your tyres, how in the name of all that is holy could you let them get to that state :eek::eek:

Comparing GSD3s to a completely different tyre is fairly pointless :p
Sorry. - I thought it was the same compound with a different tread pattern on it; they're both called "Eagle F1". :o

I still think the Proxes are better, and that the Prada's are the best I've had without going to the road-legal semi-slicks.
