Hi All

I was playing last night and in darkshire was approached by 2 PVP players (I'm PVE) and asked if I wanted to 'come for tea'. I thought what the hell and played along and as we were runinng along they were becoming more and more insistent that i followed. Anyway we got to the bridge that leads to Stranglethorn Vale and they became really insistent that I crossed it (I was getting a bit freaked out by this point). I havent been in to Stranglethorn before so my question is this?

Why were they so insistent that i crossed that bridge?

Was i about to be mugged?

Are there areas that PVP can attack PVE and nick their stuff?

I've only been playing for a few weeks (I'm level 28 Paladin) and this is the strangest thing I have experienced so far.

Any ideas appreciated

If it is a PvE server then it wouldn't have mattered where they had taken you,no-one could engage you in PvP unless you turn on your PvP flag (/pvp funnily enough).

Even on a PvP server, both Darkshire and Stranglethorn are contested meaning you could get killed by enemy faction players in both areas. The only thing slightly dangerous for you at Stranglethorn is slightly higher level creatures, but not dangerously so.

PvP just means the enemy have the opportunity to kill you on sight. They can't take your equipment or money. The only thing you lose is time getting back your body.Even if they 'camp' your corpse you can choose to resurrect at the local graveyard for a penalty of a 10 minute debuff and slight equipment damage (which can be repaired at a vendor)

Maybe they were going to show you their puppies....

The PvP players must have been on your faction otherwise they couldn't have spoken to you. There is an arena in STV but its miles from the darkshire zoneline.

Sounds to me like they were trying to get you to go into STV and get killed by the mobs there.

So you think that they were just winding me up? My mainconcern was a situation in which I would lose my gear because its taken too much to get it.

Hahahaha. You don't "lose" your gear mate. If a mob killed you then you would lose 10% of your durability. To fix your equipment you just get it repaired at a blacksmith/weapons dealer or other such places :p

I apologise for the Noobishness (is that a word?)

Well, if they just wanted to wind me up they succeeded. I'll know better next time.

There's always a possibility they were trying to be nice :) There are actually some people in WoW who are decent human beings (hard to believe sometimes I know).

Come for tea indeed...

Probably just taking you down to the arena for some "tea".

Lot more fun when you can get noobs killed and leave their corpses in a zone they have no chance of ever getting their gear back from.
Oh and de-level them abit as well.

STV is a lv 30-45 (ish) area and you'll probably get killed very quickly over there as a 28. WOW is like real life in terms of idiots trying to **** you over. It's best you make a few mates your own level and play with them regulary and get into a cool guild with people you can trust.

Have seen these before on my server (Hellscream) what they was trying to do is to get you to bump into a pvp npc that walks up and down that road he would then attack you and if you tried to fight back you would go pvp and then the other two players would then attack you

But... he said they were actually talking to him...

Unless they waited until he was enabled, then logged onto their hordies alts... pretty weak tbh.
