Nothing of great importance, merely wanted to post my results with the following:
Phenom II X2 Dual Core 555 BE plus Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H 760G
Changed:
ECC Firmware to to Hybrid
ACC to Auto
Kept crashing during windows (XP Pro 32bit) loading screen.
Disabled each core (except core 0 which cannot be disabled) and found that core 1 was the dodgy one.
With that disabled, got into windows, ran IBT a few times and no issues.
Shows as a "Phenom II X4" with three enabled cores now.
Worth the punt, bought this lot as a decent upgrade for a HP Pavillion t660.uk (Pentium 4) system.
By which I mean emptying the case and refilling it.
General family use so low noise > overclocking but the extra unlocked core is nice to have
