Back at the end of December I was diagnosed as anorexic, due to a number of reasons that don't really need to be discussed here. I was at that point 7 and a half stone. Or 48kg. Bearing in mind that I'm 5'11", I was in hospital for a few days and forced to see a psychiatrist and dietician at one point.

Anyway, fast forward past several months of getting my head sorted, and eating and training properly. I am now at a fighting weight of 10.2 stone, or 67kg. Bear in mind that I'm [usually] a very slim athletic build, this is a good weight for me really.

My goal is 75-80kg, mainly hoping for a good summer season in rowing (regatta season), but the heaviest I've ever been is 75 back when in serious training about four years ago.

Fingers crossed eh..

Excellent progress mate! I have a similar experience myself. Was 8 stone at 6'1 due to Crohn's disease and it took a while but I managed to get up to 14.5 stone. Was a bit chubbier but a bit of chub beats superskinny any day! You've already done most of the hard work - best of luck to you and just remember to take it slow and steady :)

Well done mate I always seen you as relatively healthy from what I had read on here please don't see that in a bad way, but fair play on your advancement

Thanks all. It's been a weird passage of time, and very, very hard. But the training has helped. I'm going to focus on getting to Senior 1 sculling (or whatever they renamed it, I.1?) this year, and try to get my 2k erg time down below 6:30.

Goals definitely help :).

Good job, especially on the weight gain.

Were you still erging and rowing pretty hard even when your weight was at its lowest?

Any tips?

I have Intestinal Lymphangiectasia which is similar to Chron's in many ways, I hover about 10st no matter I eat, it's so annoying! I'd look so much better with an extra stone or so.

Mate, it basically comes down to eating more. You may think you're eating more than you are.

Don't just eat anything though - people in our situation especially have to be careful of what we're eating. Basically just clean, unprocessed food (LOTS of it). I actually tried to put on a bit of fat too because people kept telling me how gaunt I looked and although I wouldn't advise trying to put on fat, I'd tell you not to worry if you do gain some.
