The Bridgestone RE010's on mine are near the legal limit and will need replacing in a month or so.

Looking around, I've narrowed it down to the following:

  • Yokohama Advan AD07 - Loads of grip, comically stiff sidewalls and reasonable in the wet. Don't last long and have high road noise.
  • Bridgestone RE01R - Mentioned a bit on the owners club, import only I think.
  • Bridgestone RE010 - The tire the car was designed around, reasonable grip, stiff sidewall and lots of feedback.
Any others to consider, must have a ridiculously stiff sidewall.

List of no hopers - Parada Spec 2/Eagle F1/Pilot Sport, all fall down on the sidewall/feedback lacking somewhat.

What's wrong with the RE720's you had? I'm now running stock 15" alloys so went with 4 x RE720 195/55/15. Great tyre IMO.

Or are you wanting to try a different tyre?

edit, add Toyo Proxes T1-R to the no hoper list too.

Didn't find much wrong with them, lasted ages and gripped quite well. Only bad point was they felt like they were tucking under due to soft sidewalls when cornering hard.
Would like try something a bit different/sticky, with the supposedly better weather on the horizon :D

I'd be interested to see how Vredestein sportrac 3's do on a 'teg, but I don't think anyones done it yet :p

They do seem to be very reasonably priced on camskill though :D

;) 888s

Lasted about 1800 very fun miles.

In all seriousness i'd give the Advans a go, they do seem to be held in pretty high regard.
