Yorkshire Puds...who likes them?

Love em, having toad in the hole tonight.

However rarely have them with roasts, oven is just to small, in fact can't remember the last time I cooked a roast. I need a new house with a normal size oven, preferably a double one. Renting sucks.

My kids like them with any roast, I prefer beef but I'll make them for the kids, y'know ;)

I use:

3oz plain flour
2 eggs
a pinch of salt and pepper
3floz milk
2floz water

The oven has to be hot, at least 220c and the dish(es) have to be hot too with a little lard or oil. Don't open the oven door for at least the first 15 minutes.

Anyone else had them for afters with syrup?

Easy one to do:

1 Cup Plain Flour
1 Cup Eggs (just crack eggs in till it fills up)
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup water
Dash of vinegar

Salt & Pepper

Perfect yorkshires every time.

The key to them is to use lard, make sure the oven is on hottest setting, and make sure the oil / tins are hot hot hot before you put the mix in.

Top tip from North Yorkshire :)

P.S you can freeze any left over mix, just let it thaw at room temperature otherwise the mix will start cookl=ing in the microwave!
